Why do we struggle to prioritize ourselves? Why do we feel so much guilt and shame for having needs and desires? How can we heal the parts of ourselves that feel so unworthy of love and care?

In my Introduction to the Healing Journey Class, I teach you the knowledge, tools, and framework you need to live your healthiest and most authentic life!

What is a “healing journey” and why does it matter?

A healing journey is a commitment to prioritize your health, happiness, and well-being.

It’s a journey of learning, practicing, and discovering whatever it is that you need to live your healthiest and most authentic life as well as releasing and healing everything that stands in your way — like sexism, patriarchy, trauma, and unrealistic expectations from yourself and society.

Going on a healing journey has helped me…

  • Make decisions from a place of self-love and self-respect.

Being on a healing journey meant that I was going to filter all of my decisions through a new lens where I asked myself: “Will this decision help or hurt my happiness, health, and well-being?” This lens helped me to stop making decisions from a place of fear of what other people would think, and it empowered me to stop allowing my choices to be influenced by the “shoulds” and the rules of society, which, let’s face it, were not designed with the well-being of women in mind.

  • Advocate for what I want and need at home and in my career.

Before I began my healing journey, I was drowning in the pressures and expectations of what a “good” woman, wife, and mother should do and be. I did not ask for help, or set boundaries, or negotiate for the pay and accommodations I deserved in my career. I was a people-pleaser — unable to say no, unable to ask for more, unable to take up space — and it hurt my happiness, my health, and my income. Learning to advocate for myself was an unexpected benefit that grew from practicing self-love and self-care on my healing journey.

  • Improve my health, happiness, and well-being in a tangible way.

Before I started my healing journey in 2013, I was suffering from debilitating, chronic back and neck pain, migraines that forced me to stay at home under a blanket, anxiety that left me struggling to breathe, and depression that made me not want to live. I am still healing through several challenges, but so much of what I went through I’ve healed and overcome. My healing has stemmed from my commitment to go on this journey where my health, happiness, and well-being are the priority, and every day I practice making choices that are aligned with this priority in mind.

Meet the Maker!

Hi, I’m Mia! I’m a mom of 2 and a trauma-informed self-care coach. I also live with diagnosed PTSD and depression.

I started my own healing journey in 2013 because I was suicidal and dealing with debilitating anxiety and chronic pain while trying to finish my college degree and hold down multiple jobs. I was sick of struggling, and I knew that the trauma I had gone through (and was still enduring) was not right and that there was more for me.

Throughout my 8+ years of healing from abuse and mental illness, I have learned so much, and I am now thriving in a way I didn’t think possible.

I created the Introduction to the Healing Journey class to share these lessons and to help as many women as possible love, care, and advocate for themselves, and to feel worthy of it all every step of the way.

I believe that when women prioritize our well-being, everyone wins and the world would be a better place.

I’m confident that this class can help you get started on your own journey of self-care, self-love, and ultimately — healing.

One final note for you ♡

All helpers need helpers.

Hey, I know it can be hard to buy things for yourself and to allow yourself to be supported. It can be hard for me too.

It’s okay to need help and to allow yourself to be supported. Life is better when we stop beating ourselves up for stuff that’s not our fault, and we get help to make the most of our situation.

Whenever my clients blame themselves for feeling stuck or not accomplishing something that was important to them, I always remind them to approach themselves with self-compassion and to see if there’s information, support, or resources they need to help them get unstuck or to accomplish what they desire.

Most of the time “trying harder” isn’t the answer. We often are struggling because we need more help, and that is perfectly human, normal, and okay.

Much love to you,
