As Seen In

Hi! I’m Mia Hemstad. I’m a mom, Self-Care Coach, maternal mental health advocate, and I’m the creator of The No Longer Last Journey™— a community of women who are acknowledging our worthiness, advocating for what we want and need, and redefining rules and expectations to live life on our own terms.

I came into this work because of how mental health challenges and childhood trauma made me feel worthless. I didn’t want to pass down cycles of harm to my children, and I wanted to live a healthier and happier life.

I'm a mom of two little kids, and I survived postpartum depression and anxiety with each of my babies. I'm a mix-raced Black woman, and I live with diagnosed PTSD and depression. I've also survived abuse (my ACEs score is an 8/10).

I have immense empathy for mothers, survivors of abuse and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and for those who live with mental health challenges every day.

I see you, and I’m in your corner.

In 2017, I began sharing my journey with mental health and motherhood on YouTube. By the time I launched my YouTube channel, I had gone through several mental health crises, and I didn’t have many people to talk to about it; nor did I know where to go for help. I wanted to normalize talking about mental health challenges and also to share what was helping me heal and what was holding me back.

Since starting my online journey, I’ve connected with thousands of women around the world who have resonated with my message and my story. My work has been featured in Yahoo, Romper, Love What Matters, and CafeMom. I was invited to be a guest speaker at the Shameless Mom Collective Conference in 2021.

My lived experiences go into the products, services, and content I create. I know how hard it can be to love and care for yourself when you struggle with mental health challenges and/or past trauma on top of living in a world that historically and systemically puts women last.

I want you to know that it is possible to make progress in your healing, to opt-out of patriarchy’s toxic rules, and to live life on your own terms. You are not alone, and I'm here to share all I know about healing and thriving alongside life’s challenges with you.
